Manager-Marketing (Commercial Partnerships & Capabilities)
The Commercial Partnerships & Capabilities team is dedicated to developing and enhancing both new and existing commercial product capabilities for the Small Business Services (SBS) and Corporate segments, leveraging Amex’s internal and external resources. This position oversees the SBS segment and offers significant opportunities to collaborate across various business units and external fintech partners, providing comprehensive insights into our core business with high priority.
We seek a manager who can work effectively with internal and external partners, including central teams and stakeholders throughout Japan, focusing on SBS products. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating strategies for SBS capabilities, engaging partners through proficient communication in both Japanese and English, and delivering results to strengthen our market leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans for SBS capabilities.
Drive growth in established businesses such as Bill Pay Provider by GMOPG and Cashflow Management by Moneytree, achieving targeted business outcomes.
Lead and manage TLMs with multiple Account Financial API partners.
Serve as project manager and collaborate with stakeholders in Japan—spanning Sales/AD, Operations, Servicing, and Credit teams—to deliver the project with high quality by due date.
Adopt a proactive “Let’s Try” approach to identify new business opportunities by studying international best practices and conducting competitor analyses.
Qualifications:
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, challenge, and drive change in both Japanese and English.
Proven relationship-building and collaboration skills with internal and external partners; adept at leading cross-functional project discussions.
Robust project management expertise, particularly in new capability development and compliance programs such as Third Party Lifecycle Management.
Self-motivated, with demonstrated ability in strategic planning based on advanced data-driven analytical skills.
Open-minded and adaptable personality, eager to acquire new knowledge and skills.
Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese and business-level English.
