Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Manager Manufacturing Operations 3 in Sykesville, Maryland to support the Power/Controls Systems organization.
In Sykesville, our technical and business leaders develop, and manufacture Power Controls Systems designed to excel in volatile and ever-changing environments.
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will oversee a team of Production/Material Control/Inventory/ Shipping personnel who expedite materials, parts and services required to produce units and assemblies. The Manager will provide leadership that coaches, motivates, teaches, and engages their team. The ability to direct and lead the organization in support of the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan, will be critical as well as providing leadership and guidance in areas such as: technical guidance, process development, continuous improvement, safety, producibility, testability, capacity and production planning. Manpower planning and staffing, Talent Plus execution, workforce engagement, and merit planning. The ability to collaborate and liaise with the various business area leaders towards all business requirements and milestones.
What You'll Get to Do:
Plans and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory processesPlans, prepares, issues and controls MRP and production schedules to ensure a controlled release and flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.Confirms material supply and demands, releases work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.Coordinates inter-departmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experienceWith at least 8 years of demonstrated leadership skills and abilities as evidenced by prior experience leading a team, project or in a supervisory role.Demonstrated detailed understanding of SAP and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems.Experience in a manufacturing, production, or repair environment.Fluent in MS Office Software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearancePreferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $147,500.00 - $221,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
