This role also supports a daily collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Global Supply Chain, Design Engineering, Production Planning, Operations Program Management, and various strategic teams across the Mission Systems enterprise._ **_What You’ll get to Do:_** **_Core Responsibilities_** + _Manage staffing needs to support existing and forecasted program schedules for our EO/IR Laser (Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensors). This will include both the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering team members._ + _Lead and optimize manufacturing operations by developing and implementing strategies that enhance productivity, reduce cost, and ensure high-quality product delivery._ + _Accountable for maintenance of site-specific manufacturing standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and instructions/procedures within site MES._ + _Support training of manufacturing teams in compliance with released production processes._ + _Prepare a regular review of manufacturing capacity planning and optimization across all production lines._ + _Ensure discipline and continuous improvement of all process standards._ + _Accountable for process technical ownership, optimization, and disposition, including top-level and subassemblies._ + _Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and sector/division/site metrics._ + _Tracking department budgets that include non-labor and overhead, and key milestones associated with Manufacturing initiatives._ + _Help develop manufacturing proposals & basis-of-estimates (BOEs) for potential contracts._ + _Prepare capital expenses and NCTA analysis, justification, return-on-investments (ROI’s), and integration into workflow/processes._ + _Planning and execution of Digital Thread and implementation of system and software initiatives._ + _Intense focus and ownership of employee development, conflict resolution, performance management, and technical training for staff._ + _Ability to support possible on-call emergency efforts based on business needs._ + _Excellent written and verbal communication skills with engineering staff, support personnel, functional management, and related groups._ + _Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership._ + _Ability to formulate, communicate, and execute complex project plans and initiatives._ + _Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills._ + _Commitment to positive employee relations, ethics, and compliance._ **_Competencies_** + _Passion and relentless drive for achieving manufacturing and operational results._ + _Leading, building, and managing strong cross-functional teams._ + _Broad technical experience in value stream manufacturing operations._ + _Risk management identification and mitigation._ + _Development of process standards focused on the product value stream._ + _Root cause problem solving and continuous improvement._ + _Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) implementation._ + _Process control method (SPC/control charts) implementation._ + _Process Capability Analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) implementation._ + _Action-oriented with the ability to make quick decisions in response to changing conditions._ + _Experience with industry and management methodologies with a focus on continuous improvement in manufacturing, such as ISO 9000, Total Quality Management, or Six Sigma._ **_Basic Qualifications for the_** **_Manager of Manufacturing Engineering (M2)_** + _Bachelor of Science in Engineering or applicable technical discipline with 8 years relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering,_ _OR_ _a master’s degree with 6 years relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering._ + _Minimum of 2 years of relevant, direct experience with people or project leadership in manufacturing/production, operations, or engineering._ + _Experience working in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)_ + _Experience with data analysis and utilizing SPC techniques._ + _US Citizenship is required._ + _Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is required._ + _Ability to support on-site full-time._ **_Preferred Qualifications for the_** **_Manager of Manufacturing Engineering (M2)_** + _Experience with new product introduction into a manufacturing environment. Able to transform a product concept into a fully developed, manufacturable, and launchable product and associated processes._ + _Strong experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES): SmartMES._ + _Mission Product Life-cycle Management experience_ + _SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP system experience_ + _Digital Manufacturing/Manufacturing Distributed Network (MDN) implementation experience_ + _Ability to strengthen workforce skills in LEAN/Continuous Improvement experience and root cause problem solving._ + _Aerospace or defense product experience_ + _Strong business and financial acumen, including capital and talent budgeting and_ _estimate-at-completion_ _(EAC) and Operations Review process understanding._ _MANUMS_ Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
