Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our Marine Systems team as an Industrial Engineering & Ops Systems Manager 2 based out of Sunnyvale, CA. 

Northrop Grumman Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines.

The Industrial Engineering Manager analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

What you’ll get to do:

Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the Industrial Engineering & Ops Systems staff, providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policiesAnalyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in production facilities and equipment layoutsEstablish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnelConduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity planning, throughput / output improvements, waste reduction, inventory control, and production record systemsDevelop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methodsInteract with cross-functional leadership in shop floor management, manufacturing engineering, operations program management, and quality assurance

Basic Qualifications:

STEM Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience; STEM Master's Degree with 6 or more years of relevant work experienceProject and leadership experience.Experience with work measurement and operations managementAbility to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceUS Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related areaProduction experience in a heavy fabrication and machining environmentExperience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturingExperience capacity planning in a bottleneck constrained environmentExperience with SAP ERPExperience with  value stream mapping and lean principlesExperience with data mining and analyticsAPICS CPIM CertificationPMP or Project Management Certification training

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
