We are seeking a cleared or clearable Cyber Non-Kinetic Engineering Department Manager to lead a team of Cyber Engineers and Information Systems Administrators. Most of the department is based in Tampa, with several at various customer sites across the U.S. The successful candidate will lead this organization to achieve outstanding program results, will be an effective communicator and problem solver, and will be adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for a balanced skill set that includes interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. You should have demonstrated experience leading technical teams throughout the lifecycle of capability development, along with prior people management experience.
The Tampa campus of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is growing rapidly, and we are opening this department management role to lead high-performing teams comprised of cyber engineers, cyber administrators, cyber security analysts, software engineers, and other key disciplines to support and develop IT networks. This is a dual-role position, involving direct management of talented front-line managers and system engineers as well as technical performance for technically advanced development of key IT programs. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a solid software or IT development background, and outstanding leadership skills. We prefer candidates with experience in multiple relevant technology areas, such as network development, security, applications, software development, graphical user interface design, creation of web applications, logistics, training, and support.
Your direct management responsibilities will include:
Managing and leading front-line managers and IT/SW engineersMeeting department objectivesSetting objectives and monitoring and reviewing yearly progress for the teamBeing responsible and accountable for managing the workload of your direct reportsRecruiting, interviewing, and hiring top-ranked engineering, IT, cyber security, and leadership talentProviding timely, constructive support and feedback to your reports on a regular basisCompleting quarterly performance assessments of your team membersMotivating your team members (engagement) and facilitating regular meetings with themProviding mentoring and career development to each team memberCoordinating training for each team memberProviding appropriate tools and resources for your team’s development activitiesYour project engineering leadership duties will include:
Leadership of program technical execution to meet cost and schedule constraintsWeekly/Daily interaction with the customerProgram staffing for optimal executionTechnical direction, guidance, and mentoring of project team membersWorking programs, proposals, or internally funded activities in a technical or leadership roleRisk-mitigation planning and executionStrategic problem solvingEarned value managementBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other STEM-related field with 12 years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM-related field, OR 10 years’ experience with an MS, OR 7 years’ experience with a PhD.3 years in a formal management position with demonstrated technical leadership, engineering or IT management, and/or program management experience.Minimum of 7 years’ technical manager experience.Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skillsUS Citizenship with active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance to start.Preferred Qualifications:

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $242,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
