Job Summary:\rThe Cath Lab / EP Manager supervises all Cath Lab / EP Department operations to ensure that all procedures and cases are performed efficiently and appropriately in accordance with established policies and procedures. He/she is responsible for performing a wide variety of management responsibilities relative to scheduling, staff coverages, budget development and compliance, physician and patient satisfaction, strategic planning, marketing, performance improvement, clinical trials oversight, charge master and computerized inventory management activities. The Manager can perform job functions utilizing independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative, with ability to interact and direct successful operations within multidisciplinary specialty physician groups.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rFinancial Accountability\r* Maintains operational expenses in accordance with FY Budget projections.\r* Assists in Budget preparations for all vascular cost centers.\r* Monitors Budget variances and provides Responsibility Report responses to Business Manager and\r* Finance, and Chief Operating Officer.\r* Provides for appropriate productivity reporting and meets or exceeds benchmarks relative to staffing/labor, and expenses.\r* Ensures appropriate CPT and reimbursement practices in concert with Revenue Management\r* Department.\r* Active participant on the VI/CCL Value Analysis Committee to ensure best pricing\r* initiatives for supplies and equipment.\r* Control Inventory cost through utilization of par levels, standardization, and consignments of higher cost\r* products.\r* Interacts with Revenue Management Department and Compliance regarding charge master\r* maintenance, coding, and reimbursement activities.\r* Collaborates with Cardiology Director of Finance to review financial reports including monthly statistics, and budget variance responses.\rManages Routine Operations\r* Adjusts staffing plans and scheduling practices to meet volume demands and fluctuations.\r* Maintains open line of communication between management team and physicians in facilitating daily\r* operations.\r* Identifies problems and addresses them promptly, alerting appropriate people, and/or analyzing\r* alternative measures and making reasonable decisions.\r* Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new trends, technology, and methods to ensure effective and\r* competitive services.\r* Ensures smooth workflow, timely completion of all services, prioritization of the work, and effective\r* interaction with other departments.\r* Assists scheduling personnel to ensure adequate time slots and appropriate block scheduling\r* parameters.\r* Monitors room utilization and capacity on an ongoing basis to ensure efficiencies of operation.\rManages Human Resources\r* Provides for the interviewing, selecting, orientation/training and competency of staff.\r* Recruitment and retention of qualified staff.\r* Provides for effective employee orientation, mentoring process.\r* Creative staffing plans to provide adequate coverage and maintain cost at reasonable levels.\r* Coordinate employee survey results/outcomes with appropriate follow-up and action plans.\r* Provides and ensures appropriate development and training for staff.\r* Holds and oversees regularly scheduled staff meetings, and monthly management/physician meetings.\rQuality Initiatives\r* Meets performance and quality improvement standards, maintaining policies/procedures and ensuring\r* adherence.\r* Provides compliance for State, Federal, and JCAHO standards and regulations.\r* Oversees and coordinates performance improvement/education activities for all Kennestone Vascular Institute cost centers.\r* Oversees and provides for all Cardiac Cath Lab policies/procedures.\r* Implements and maintains Scope of Services for the Cardiac Cath Lab.\r* Interacts with Quality Review Staff to provide outcomes tracking data and analysis activities.\r* Ensures appropriate credentialing policies are followed during procedure criteria guidelines.\r* Maintains standard of care as outlined in the policies and procedures.\r* Ensures high quality, cost effective patient care.\rManages Strategic Planning\r* Coordinates any new services and construction/renovation projects.\r* Provides leadership for the Procedural Cardiology Program growth.\r* Assists in marketing activities for new services, and technology.\r* Oversees and coordinates new equipment purchases and installations.\rPatient/Customer Satisfaction\r* Monitors patient satisfaction on an ongoing basis through Press Ganey Surveys, and makes\r* appropriate recommendations, changes based on trending and results.\r* Provide timely follow up with patient/family concerns.\r* Monitors physician and office staff needs.\r* Interacts with Interventional Cardiologists regarding new services and programs.\rManages Change\r* Identifying opportunities and problems, analyzing, involving affected staff, and implementing changes\r* when indicated.\r* Work with other departments regarding opportunities for improvement, new technology and services.\r* Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs\r* Knows existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications properly and is dependable, cooperative, and emotionally graduate of accredited School of Nursing\rBachelor's Degree in a relevant in a relevant field.\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.RCIS - Registered CVI Specialist or RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state CompactBLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rRegistered Cardiology Invasive Specialist Required\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rMinimum 5 years interventional or Cath lab experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of management experience. Required\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rThe individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude (see WellStars Standards of Gold and Values).\rOrganizational skills that enable the individual to react and perform under stress and emergency situations and to manage two to three activities at one time on an on-going basis.\rManagement skills to effectively lead employees in a task-oriented environment, time management skills to meet scheduled and non-scheduled operational deadlines, analytical skills to prepare and manage budget.
