Manager, Uber Risk Operations
Uber
**About the Role**
As a Risk Operations Manager (L5) at Uber Global Scaled Solutions (GSS), you will own the end-to-end execution of fraud and risk operations across one or more critical risk domains.
This role is for a hands-on risk leader who has grown through investigations and operations, brings deep fraud domain expertise, and can independently lead people, programs, and senior-level stakeholder relationships.
You will be expected to run the business, not just manage it—owning outcomes across quality, SLA, cost, risk reduction, and team health, while shaping longer-term strategy in partnership with Product, Data, and Engineering.
**What You'll Do**
1. Lead complex fraud investigations and high-severity escalations
2. Manage/develop Uber program managers and risk/fraud investigators
3. Establish and maintain strong process governance across key KPIs - quality, SLA, queue precision
4. Own budget planning, headcount forecasting, and vendor strategy, ensuring cost-effective risk coverage.
5. Partner with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to translate fraud patterns into tooling and automation requirements.
**Basic Qualifications**
1. 8+ years of experience in fraud investigations, risk operations, or trust & safety (any industry/domain)
2. 2+ years of people management experience, including managing managers and/or large investigator teams
3. Demonstrated experience personally conducting or leading fraud investigations.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
**Preferred Qualifications**
1. Experience scaling global or multi-region operations. Experience managing BPO/vendor-led operating models
2. Proven ability to partner with Product and Engineering on tooling and automation
3. Background in payments, marketplaces, fintech, e-commerce, or regulated environments
