Position Summary:
Partner with Area Operations Leaders and General Managers to understand business objectives and to identify, develop and deliver training needs for the Region (Canada).

Supports employee development and retention by delivering and managing established programs Acts as an internal consultant to the operation and customizes existing programs to fit local needs Coordinates and facilitates select training programs for all union and other non-exempt employees in assigned units Identifies performance/behavior gaps, makes recommendations, and provides solutions in order to improve business performance, increase retention and develop future leaders Seeks out training opportunities and creates high impact, low cost solutions. Takes ownership for each program’s implementation and success Coaches Supervisors on how to train new hires Develops training skills of Subject Matter Experts and assists with program/course development Acts as the process owner and lead facilitator for new hire orientation and provides new hire employees with ongoing training Develops a tracking and measurement system to ensure the effectiveness of training Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related work as needed.Education:
Bachelor degree from four year college or university required.Work Experience:
At least 5-8 years experience as a training managerExperience training in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing or food service environment highly desirable Prior extensive experience working with a learning management system (LMS) requiredExperience and formal training in instructional design requiredJob Skills:
Multi-lingual skills requiredMust be fully bilingual in both French and English requiredPosition requires experience and demonstrated competency in:Facilitating

Time managementMust be able to use consulting skills to identify goals and overcome obstacles and be able and willing to earn “a seat at the table” Candidate should be flexible in working a variety of shifts and days off Experience with LMS, computer or web-based training delivery and a lean manufacturing environment is preferred Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, and be highly organized, action oriented and collaborative Must have strong computer and database application skills (Excel, Word, etc.)

Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience presenting training to groupsCertificates, Licenses and Registrations:
Bilingual in both French and English requiredTravel:
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, mostly across 9 sites in Canada from Vancouver to Halifax.Some travel maybe required to the US and other parts from time to timeEnvironmental Requirements:
