Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics
Position Summary...We are seeking a highly motivated and scientifically driven Manager with expertise in food toxicology to join our Food Safety Science, Innovation, and Compliance team. This role plays a critical part in shaping, supporting, and executing our global food safety strategy—ensuring the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of our food supply chain across all markets.

This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on toxicological food safety risks and will provide technical leadership in designing and implementing science-based risk management strategies. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong communication and collaboration skills and is passionate about leveraging science to protect consumers and drive innovation.

What you'll do...Lead the development and implementation of global food safety standards, focusing on toxicological risk assessment.Provide scientific expertise to cross-functional teams for decision-making on food safety programs by evaluating hazards, emerging risks, and regulatory alignment.Support supplier qualification and ongoing compliance through technical reviews, validation of food safety plans (e.g., HACCP), and assessment of toxicological specifications.Review supplier test protocols, environmental monitoring plans, and finished product testing programs.Develop and maintain risk assessment models and hazard analysis databases for toxicological hazards across internal manufacturing, private brand portfolios, and food delivery programs.Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a scientific library of validation methods and performance standards.Oversee toxicological testing strategies, including coordination with external labs and interpretation of analytical results.Lead sampling plan design for raw materials, finished products, and environmental monitoring in alignment with scientific best practices.Stay current on global food safety regulations, scientific advancements, and emerging hazards through horizon scanning and literature review.Represent the company in scientific and regulatory communities; strengthen external partnerships to enhance food safety reputation and influence.

What you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s degree in toxicology, chemistry, food science, or food safety related field required.Advanced degree preferred.Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance, with a strong background in toxicological safety of food. Experience in supplier management, food manufacturing, or R&D preferred.Ability to learn food safety regulations and geography-specific requirements relating to food toxicology for both the US and global markets.Proven ability to translate complex scientific data into actionable business strategies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work in a matrixed global environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
