Manager, Specialist Sales, Acceptance & Merchant Solutions, South East AsiaOverviewMastercard is seeking a strategic, commercially driven professional to join our Customer Solutions Center (CSC) team as Manager, Sales Specialist, Acceptance and Merchant Solutions. in Indonesia. This role is key to accelerating Mastercard’s acceptance and gateway strategy in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic and fast growing digital commerce markets.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in online payments, payment gateways, merchant acquiring and payment facilitation, with a strong track record of commercial deal-making, solution selling, and driving revenue growth.
Reporting to the Director, Products and Solutions (Acceptance), you will work closely with acquirers, payment gateways, payment facilitators, merchants, regulators, and ecosystem partners to scale Mastercard’s acceptance, gateway, and digital payment capabilities across Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Gateway Sales and Drive Revenue Growth (Primary Focus)
•\tDrive Mastercard’s gateway (Merchant Cloud) and digital acceptance growth by identifying, prioritizing, and winning commercial opportunities with:
o\tPayment gateways
o\tPayment facilitators (PayFacs)
o\tAcquiring banks
o\tLarge online and omni channel merchants
•\tLead the full sales cycle: prospecting, solution positioning, deal negotiation, contracting, and go to-market execution.
•\tDevelop data driven business cases to support gateway partnerships, optimizing for volume growth, conversion, and profitability.
•\tCollaborate with internal teams (e.g., pricing, legal, product) to deliver commercially sound proposals aligned with Mastercard’s strategic objectives.
2. Strengthen Mastercard’s Acceptance and Digital Commerce Strategy in Indonesia
•\tLead initiatives to expand Mastercard acceptance in key sectors such as e commerce, mobility, food delivery, retail, travel, SMEs, and the emerging digital ecosystem.
•\tAnalyze competitive offerings, customer pain points, and market trends to develop actionable strategies and ensure Mastercard’s leadership in Indonesia’s acceptance landscape.
3. Engage and Support Country & Regional Sales Teams
•\tAct as the product and solution subject matter expert for Indonesia, supporting account teams with:
o\tProduct enablement
o\tSales tools and training
o\tSolution positioning
o\tPricing and commercial structuring
•\tProvide field insights to regional product teams to influence product enhancements and localization needs.
4. Build Strong Relationships With Acquirers, Gateways, and Merchants
•\tDevelop and nurture relationships with:
o\tMajor acquiring banks
o\tLocal and regional payment gateways
o\tPayFacs
o\tHigh potential merchants
•\tUnderstand their challenges and commercial priorities; proactively identify opportunities for Mastercard’s solutions to create value and drive volume.
5. Proactively Engage Customers to Maximize Success
•\tConduct regular business reviews with customers to drive performance, solve issues, and unlock new opportunities.
•\tEnsure Mastercard maintains a reputation as a trusted solution and advisory partner across Indonesia’s digital payments ecosystem.
