Your Impact:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Software Engineering Manager with deep expertise in enterprise software development and modern architectures. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will guide strategy, mentor engineers, and actively contribute to technical decisions—and when needed, roll up your sleeves to write code for critical components, prototypes, or troubleshooting complex issues. You will design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that power mission-critical applications. Working closely with architects, product managers, and DevOps teams, you will lead the development of microservices-based solutions deployed in containerized environments, ensuring reliability, resilience, and optimal performance. 

 

This is a hybrid role: Tues-Thurs in office - Mon & Fri Work from home

 

What the role offers:

As a Manager of Engineeeging you will:

Possess 8–10 years of professional experience in enterprise-grade software development with 5+ years of experience leading a team.Be a hands-on leader: participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and occasionally write code for critical features or proof-of-concepts.Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure  services that power our multi-tenant SaaS application. This includes defining the strategy to ensure services are consumable and monetizable by our customers and partners internally and externally.Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of development, from concept and design to development, deployment, and ongoing optimization. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards while driving customer satisfaction.Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships while fostering innovation and process improvement.Drive the adoption of AI internally by product teams to increase productivity, integration into the platform's architecture and services, ensuring our information management capabilities are intelligent, predictive, and automated.Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Operations, Release Management, and cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery and adoption by different business unitsProvide technical leadership and guidance on cloud-native technologies, architectural patterns, and best practices to ensure the platform remains modern and competitive.Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers and product professionals to achieve sprint/release goals, facilitate planning, stand-ups and retrospectives. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support team development, career progression, and organizational change initiatives to enhance delivery methodologies.

 

What you need to Succeed:

Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science (MS CS) or equivalent experience with extensive industry engineering background, including management/project management.Proven experience in delivering and managing large-scale, multi-tenant, cloud-native platforms services or SaaS Applications, embracing DevSecOps (GitLab/GitHub)Proven expertise in SaaS/Cloud Development, Docker, Kubernetes, and Hyperscalers (GCP/AWS/Azure).Demonstrated experience with cloud service delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Strong experience in JAVA application design and development, including Spring Framework/SpringBoot and API-first software development.Agile project management training and hands-on delivery experience.Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and collaborative problem-solving skills.Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance in a cloud environment.Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams, fostering motivation, planning, and delivery success.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $109,830.00 - $159,830.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
