Position Summary:

The Manager, SES Retail Operations (ROM) is responsible for the operational excellence of the Samsung Experience Stores. Together with the SES leadership team the ROM plans and executes strategies to drive sales, increase profitability and cultivate a positive experience for customers and team member. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders the ROM will manage daily operations activities including Planograming, vendor management, management of operations budget, and improving execution through SOPs. This role includes working closely with the store operator, external vendors, visual merchandising, logistics and IT departments. In addition, the ROM manages New Store Opening and HQ Operations projects. ROM monitors operational spends in order to optimize and create efficiencies. The ROM is also responsible for external business & operations related communications related to business term negotiation, contracts, and approvals.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations Strategy 20%

Develop short-term and long-term strategies and plans aimed at improving efficiencies and reducing costs

Collaborate with sales, marketing, logistics, IT and store operator to support sales initiatives

Manage operational budget including annual expenses forecast

Support store expansion initiatives including kiosk and special projects

Ad-hoc and regular reports to the executives on key plans and results

Develop and drive process innovation & improvements to stream line and optimize operations

Operations Management 40%

Ensure processes and procedures are clearly defined for SES stores

Works with Operation Leads in stores on daily, weekly, monthly plans to drive sales and efficiencies

Perform audit and compliance reviews of Samsung operational processes and procedures through site visits

Work closely with training team to incorporate operations training for new and existing SES managers

Lead internal Operational projects (and activities) tracking, reporting and meetings (Maintenance Platform & Store execution Audit platform)

Work with Legal department to ensure contract renewals, new vendor onboarding and/or contract cancellations are up to date and reflected in our internal systems

Support SES retail in validating installation compliance for new product rollouts

Liaison with OSL to rectify rollout deficiencies in a timely manner

Lead and execute monthly Planogram Reviews by Store – develop Sales/Sq.Ft by store to optimize location of RDUs and sales by store

In conjunction with sales and merchandising build and execute Monthly Planogram and VMD set up focus on Suwon direction, launches, seasonality and sales performance

Work closely with visual merchandiser and 3rd party vendor to ensure display units are working properly in stores

Lead and execute RDU set up by store planogram. 

Audit Store executions on planograms and RDU set ups

Build and execute Operational SOPs

Upload Operational SOPs for store execution, follow up/audit on compliance by store

Lead weekly OSL SECA Ops meeting

Manage ordering and execution of Uniforms, Bags, and Business Cards

Lead Project management of New Store openings and closings

Manage the transfer and ongoing management of OSL Operational vendors through existing SECA vendors, as well as RFP process to leverage SECA savings

Accountable to P&L operational spend

Vendor Management 20%

Manage business relationships with external partners (Operator, various Service providers)

​Ensure store maintenance and repair activities are tracked and performed with the highest standards of execution by all vendors. This includes follow up site visits pre and post repair

Ensure store accessibility meets internal and external compliance standards. (alarms, doorways, elevator maintenance, bathrooms and general plumbing, heating and A/C)

Manage business negotiations and all contract related matters

Conduct regular business reviews with internal and external teams to identify opportunities and co-develop solutions to drive operational success through efficiencies

​Financial Management – 20%

Support SES with project proposals submissions in SAP system

Process invoices for SES into SAP system & perform monthly reconciliations with key vendor partners

Validate invoices by checking tax, vendor info, duplication, budget source and etc., and process it into the GFP system once it is verified.

Build, and maintain an invoice tracker to ensure payments are being processed within 30 day guideline from Marketing Finance team

Collaborate with project owners & vendors to ensure all required back up documentation for invoicing is captured for the submission on SAP

Liaison with marketing finance & procurement teams & navigate proposals thru the approvals process

Follow up any payment issues with the project owners to close off open issues in a timely basis

Manage FOC submissions and audits in system for SES

Monthly reconciliation of SES MDF spend

Annual MDF operational build with YOY opportunities

 

Requirements

Education:

Annual MDF operational build with YOY opportunities

Knowledge:

Strong analytical skills and competency using Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Possess exceptional organizational & planning skills including attention to detail

Highly developed communication & interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in the organization: from senior executives to support staff within an outside of the company

Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision

Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment

Ability to travel overseas, across Canada

Able to work extended hours and weekends when required

Experience:

Minimum 7 years’ experience in retail operations, project management, vendor management or related experience

Demonstrated people management skills

Skills and Qualifications

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $95,000 to $130,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience. This posting is for a current job vacancy.
