Job Summary:
The Security Manager CBE Chennai, reporting to the Senior Security Manager at WM IDC Chennai, will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the Walmart Centre of Business Excellence (WMCBE-CES) where he is deployed at Chennai, including its physical assets, associates, and vendors. The WMCBE may be housed in multiple buildings across various parts of the city, and will operate 24/7, with night shifts shared alternatively with the other Security Manager’s on role.
The Security Manager will assist in developing and implementing comprehensive security policies for the facility, associates, and vendors across multiple locations within Chennai. They will be expected to undertake tasks assigned by the Security Manager from time to time and will be responsible for taking on the duties of the Security Manager WMCBE-CES in their absence.

What You’ll Do:
Facility Security
Security Management and Compliance:- The Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies and procedures for WMCBE in coordination with the senior security manager at WMIDC Chennai. The role involves reviewing and timely evaluating security processes to ensure updates are made to the senior manager. Additionally, the Security Manager designs security measures to safeguard associates, prevent unauthorized access to Walmart equipment, facilities, and materials, and prevent sabotage and theft. The Security Manager also manages and monitors security incidents, responds to breaches, and investigates and reports incidents to the senior security manager.
The Security Manager is responsible for various other tasks, including developing and delivering security awareness training programs for contact center associates, serving as a BCP Planning & Program coordinator for WMCBE-CES business pillars, providing insight to safety design in disaster management as a member of the Chennai Crisis Management Team, managing and conducting all security audits, budgeting for annual budget estimates for 3rd Party guarding services and other security gadgets, Due Diligence Audits, and maintaining a secure environment at all WMCBE-CES buildings by ensuring all security protocols are followed in letter and spirit. The Security Manager is also responsible for establishing and maintaining procedures to reduce internal theft and losses, ensuring timely completion of reports, and ensuring all necessary actions are commenced as required.
Access Control and Security Management : The Access Control and Security Management team is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the facility by scrutinizing and recording all accesses into and out of the facility, including personnel and store entrances. The team is also responsible for managing the Access Control Systems (ACS), ensuring all ACS are functional and in case of malfunction, rectifying the issue with the vendor at the earliest. Additionally, the team is responsible for badging, including the correct and timely issue of ID/access cards to associates, consultants, and contractors, as well as the security, accounting, and documentation of these cards.
The team also regulates the entry and exit of all visitors to the facility through the Visitor Management System (VMS), ensures the functioning of the VMS, and trains 3rd party Security Rank structure personnel in handling the VMS and the reports & returns. Furthermore, the team controls the material gate, ensuring all materials going out and coming into the property are properly documented, and maintains the security and accounting of gate passes and conducts audits as appropriate to Tech park regulations too ( For e.g:- SEZ tech park, STPI, Non-STPI Parks) .
Fire Safety and Emergency Response: The Fire Safety and Emergency Response team is responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility by ensuring all firefighting equipment is always in a serviceable state in coordination with the building team. The team also plans and conducts floor training for all associates, selects and trains the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and plans and conducts evacuation drills for all associates and staff at least twice a year in concurrence with the builder's team. Additionally, the team ensures weekly checks of the PA system are carried out in conjunction with the BMS ( Building maintenance Service) team and trains security personnel in the handling of fire extinguishers.
3rd Party Guarding Services
Third Party Guarding Services Management : The Third-Party Guarding Services Management team is responsible for managing the 3rd Party Security Force, including selection, deployment, training, administration, and attendance while deployed in WMCBE-CES. The team establishes and maintains systems and procedures to ensure regular patrolling of the entire office. Additionally, the team manages, scrutinizes, and forwards all bills pertaining to guarding services to the Finance department. The team also draws out the contract with the 3rd Party Security Firm based on a comprehensive analysis of other security firms and evaluation of the best and cost-effective op
