CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Research Data leads all research data collection and management activities and functions as programmer and data analyst for research studies. Further, the Manager, Research Data strives to achieve research study objectives and ensures compliance with department, University, and federal policies and procedures.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Merges, creates, and recodes variables to prepare data for analysis.
2. Develops data cleaning programs for new forms and runs data cleaning programs for existing forms.
3. Formulates and implements data quality assurance procedures to ensure validity and reliability of study results.
4. Creates analysis datasets for use by other investigators.
5. Advances analytical code for use in a highly collaborative environment.
6. Writes detailed documentation and specifications for analysis data sets and related files.
7. Performs analyses on large, complex datasets, and documents analyses using statistical software packages.
8. Generates tables and figures in publication-quality form, summarizing the results of statistical analyses, and presents results orally to study investigators.
9. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:

Operational Management: Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
