Manager, Regulatory Governance Office

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal, Risk and Compliance team at Marsh. This is a Melbourne or Sydney based role. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Manager, Regulatory Governance Office

Responsible for supporting the Senior Manager Regulatory Governance Office (RGO) and advising on regulatory compliance obligations and processes across the Mercer and Marsh McLennan businesses in relation to regulated role holders under the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), CPS 511 Remuneration (CPS 511), SPS 520 Fit and Proper (SPS 520), and RG 105 Organisational Competence (RG 105).

We will count on you to:

Support the Senior Manager RGO by providing advice and support on regulatory compliance obligations and processes relating to the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), CPS 511 Remuneration, SPS 520 Fit and Proper, and RG 105 Organisational Competence (AFSL) (‘Regulated Role Holders’). Ensure accurate maintenance of documentation, artefacts, and records.Monitor regulatory change developments and assist in the interpretation and implementation of regulatory change relating to Regulatory Roles.Assist in the response to Regulator enquiries, requests, reviews and interactions.Support Senior Manager RGO to conduct regulatory role assessments utilising the Regulatory Role Assessment Framework, processes and procedures to assess whether a new appointment to role is a FAR Accountable Persons, CPS 511 Specified Role Holder, RM, or RP.Support the Senior Manager RGO to maintain and update policies and procedures (as required). Develop accurate and concise reports, dashboards, and escalation tools for internal stakeholders, boards, and committees.Undertake periodic risk-based monitoring and thematic reviews in accordance with the RGO Monitoring and Oversight plan related to Regulated Role Holders, maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability.Support the Senior Manager RGO in monitoring of Trigger Events for the purposes of identifying significant risk related conduct matters that may require further investigation, in compliance with the requirements of the Mercer Australia Remuneration Policy including the Consequence Management Framework, and CPS 511 and FAR.

What you need to have: 

Risk, compliance, regulation, legal interpretationMinimum of 3 years in a Risk, Compliance or Governance role in Financial Services.Experienced in regulatory compliance or governance preferably within a large superannuation or other financial services organisationExperienced in interpreting legal requirements of legislationExperienced at creating and drafting board and committee papers, drafting policies and proceduresDemonstrated ability to develop detailed knowledge of business processes, policies and proceduresSkilled at analysing data from different sources, and drawing objective observationsStrong communication skills both written and oralPrior knowledge of CPS 511, SPS 520, RG 105. Prior experience of BEAR or FAR is desirable, but not essential
