Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead Mastercard’s API Consultancy & Standards capability within the Developer Experience team. This role focuses on API governance and lifecycle management, ensuring Mastercard APIs meet global standards for security, usability, and performance. The position combines product management expertise with innovation, leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance developer experience and accelerate product delivery.
This is a global role, working closely with engineering, product, and market teams to align priorities, address regional requirements, and deliver solutions that scale across diverse markets.

Role

•\tDrive and deliver the vision and roadmap for API governance and lifecycle management.
•\tDefine product requirements and partner with the engineering team to execute the roadmap.
•\tBuild tools and frameworks that simplify API design, enforce compliance, and improve performance across Mastercard’s ecosystem.
•\tLeverage AI-driven solutions to automate governance and enhance productivity.
•\tCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure Mastercard APIs address real-world challenges and deliver exceptional developer experiences.
•\tManage key touchpoints for API lifecycle, including internal reviews, onboarding, commercialization, and decommissioning.
•\tEnsure developer documentation meets Mastercard’s Gold Standards and supports developer-first design.

All About You

•\tBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
•\tAdvanced experience in product management, preferably in API platforms or developer tools.
•\tStrong understanding of API standards, governance, and lifecycle processes.
•\tAbility to translate technical concepts into business outcomes and strategic initiatives.
•\tCollaborative mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
•\tExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed environment.
