The opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to join our team. As the Manager, Procurement, you will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and optimizing contract manufacturing partners. This role will focus on developing category strategies, optimizing costs, and ensuring contract manufacturers meet performance, quality, and compliance expectations. Additionally, you will drive process standardization, continuous process improvement, and cost savings, across the enterprise.

 

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Develop and execute category strategies for contract manufacturing, aligned with overall procurement and business objectivesLead sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs), supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management to ensure cost savings, quality and timely deliveryManage end-to-end supplier relationships, including performance management, risk assessments, quality, service levels, and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, Planning, and R&D to align supply capabilities with business needsMonitor market trends and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities and supply chain risks to mitigate potential disruptionsDrive the standardization of procurement processes through stakeholder engagement and alignment across all business segments to ensure we optimize our purchasing power and create transactional efficiency.  


 

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred) Minimum 5 years of procurement or category management experience with exposure to contract manufacturing or outsourced operations in a fast-paced, manufacturing environmentExperience negotiating manufacturing services agreements and managing long-term supplier partnerships with key suppliersStrong negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management skillsAbility to easily build relationships with stakeholders and resolve potential conflictsStrong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers and operational KPIs Ability to work across multiple teams and lead through influence.
