Manager, Macro Space Strategy & Process

Support the Sr. Manager in executing macro space strategy initiatives, process improvements, and the development of new floor planning solutions. Act as the domain expert responsible for translating strategic goals into comprehensive, detailed business requirements and use cases for new tools and capabilities. Play a key role in scoping and managing proof of concept projects for innovative floor planning tools. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement and sustain processes and controls that maintain a digital twin of the physical store environment, ensuring planograms are accurately mapped to store layouts. Own the detailed business requirements definition, validation for assigned solution features, ensuring seamless integration into the business operating model.


Key Responsibilities:

30% Lead space transformation projects to design and implement new processes and capabilities that contribute to the continuous improvement of the team20% Manage project timelines to ensure Space Planning deliverables are met and provide a high quality deliverable for business customers20% Manage development of space planning analytics to produce actionable insights for merchants that drive space productivity growth10% Participate in weekly meetings with cross-functional teams to participate in business discussions and provide space planning expertise, contributing to strategic merchandising plans for the business.10% Manage associate development through training, feedback and the implementation of development plans.10% Troubleshoot issues as they arise and resolve problems that affect space planning deliverables.


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

This position reports to the Director of Space Planning.This position has 5-8 direct reports.


Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in macro space planning, floor planning, or related roles.Experience with floor/space planning tools and strong analytical skills.Strong analytical, initiative management, and communication skills.Strong track record of managing scope, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies for business and technology initiatives.Skill in designing "To-Be" business workflows that maximize the impact of new data-driven capabilities.Ability to synthesize complex process findings, domain strategy & stakeholder insights into concise, actionable business requirements.Experience translating strategic business priorities into clear value-based inputs for technical delivery teams, ensuring a high ROI on development effortsProven ability to define Detailed Business Rules, Functional Specifications, and Operational Use Cases.Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally.

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
