Description
As Amazon's internal Customs House Brokerage Manager at INLT, you will be leading our team of customs brokers and entry writers to ensure the timely and accurate clearance of goods through customs. This includes managing daily operations, compliance, problem solving, and serving as the Customs Brokerage point of contact for Amazon's internal and external Customers. As INLT's CHB Operations team leader you will be responsible for the overall management, growth and development, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes that drive a high-quality customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the customs brokerage department, and support staff
- Develop, implement and drive continuous improvement to deliver high-quality customer experience
- Ensure that KPIs are being met or exceeded
- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements
- Develop and implement efficient customs clearance processes to ensure shipments are managed against appropriate timelines and expectations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation requirements
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and industry trends and update internal policies and procedures accordingly
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to compliance standards
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and legal, to streamline cross-border trade processes and resolve issues effectively
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, carriers, and other relevant stakeholders
- Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in customs brokerage operations
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in customs brokerage, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Customs Broker license is required
- Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade compliance requirements
- Leadership experience with a focus on team building, mentorship, and performance management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field
- Certified Customs Specialist Certification
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
