Manages, plans, implements, and evaluates the staff and activities of Fire Life Safety programs. Acts as safety committee liaison.
Job Responsibility
Provides leadership to Fire Life Safety team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives. Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system. Develops, implements, and evaluates fire life safety program operating policies, procedures, and processes; oversees the coordination of fire response team training, fire safety training, and regular fire safety inspections of all off-campus properties. Ensures regular inspections required by all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations are conducted; participates in inspections; reviews compliance; develops specifications for Fire Life Safety inspections, maintenance, and scheduling of vendor services; solicits and evaluates competitive bids for fire and burglar alarm central station monitoring and fire alarm and sprinkler maintenance; monitors vendors to ensure they meet all applicable organization. Maintains documentation organization regulations; performs and documents pre-construction risk assessments; develops general accident prevention and improvement recommendations. Acts as safety committee liaison; conducts training on requirements (lockout/tag out, etc.), and maintains documentation regarding continued education for Real Estate Services maintenance staff. Reviews and supports the property's Statement of Conditions; coordinates and reviews indoor air quality testing and implements recommendations for improvements. Oversees the coordination of the annual Nassau County Fire Marshalls (NCFM) emergency generator tests; ensures emergency fuel tank testing and fuel deliveries are maintained. Ensures that all required permits, i.e. fire, burglar alarm and fuel tanks, are updated and current; collaborates with landlords to rectify Fire Life Safety issues. Serves as the technical expert for Fire Life Safety issues; selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports. Responds to fire alarm activations and other emergencies. Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.*Additional Salary Detail
