Job Description Summary

Plans, designs and develops clear, engaging, compelling learning and performance-focused solutions that enhance retention and knowledge transfer within TD's Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) program. Applies design expertise to create learning, performance-focused solutions and creative strategies that achieve visible and measurable improvements to individual and group performance, development, and/or productivity and business results. 

Provides support on a variety of projects, initiatives and platforms to support execution or training strategies for the FCRM department.  Supports the development and maintenance of TD’s FCRM Training program. Oversee the timely delivery of training initiatives that align with expected outcomes and expectations.

Job Description

CUSTOMER

Develops project plans to facilitate the design and development of FCRM learning programs to address specific training needs.Act as Subject Matter Expert as it relates to instructional design and adult learning theoryDefines learning objectives, describes tasks and activities, estimates the resource requirements, and creates detailed design structure.Act as a liaison with partners and external groups and provide FCRM Training subject matter expertise related to the design and development of training programsProven project management skills to deliver learning projects within agreed upon timelinesLead and develop FCRM Training programs in coordination with management in line with TD’s FCRM ProgramWrites, storyboards, and edits learning and performance support interventions.Ensures learning solutions are instructionally sound, and developed on time, within scope and budget.

Partner, as necessary, effectively with key stakeholder groups such as Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk, Enterprise Learning and DevelopmentEnsure respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meet function needs, comply with internal/ external requirements and align with function prioritiesConsistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues, where appropriateWork closely with management team to support the development of FCRM Training programs  ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scaleIntegrate new systems and upgrades into function operations, as neededEnsure employees are building and enhancing their FCRM knowledge and expertise; and employees assume responsibility in minimizing operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank policy and Code of ConductMonitor and communicate to Senior Management, the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertiseSet the standards for operations and manageability across the function ensuring services are built from the ground upProactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendationsEnsure department operates in compliance with applicable internal and external requirementsLead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situationsMaintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

Responsible for management of the overall  design and development of FCRM training programs providing both leadership and guidanceContribute to the development of FCRM Training strategic priorities aligned with annual Training PlansManages annual training and/or long-term learning design projectsProvide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for Training and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unitGrow team expertise to align with FCRM/enterprise demand and direction; contribute to enhancing team skills and capabilities related to Training design and development and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value deliveredCreate and foster a cohesive team and promote a positive work environment.Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teamsEscalate business challenges; facilitate change through positive mindsetEstablish and foster a cohesive team; and contribute to the achievement common goals and objectivesAct as a brand ambassador for the function and the bank, both internally and/or externallyWork collaboratively with subject matter experts to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of learning solutionsKeep abreast of training industry developments, including new technology solutions and trends and best practices

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Undergraduate Degree, professional accreditation, and/or 5+ years relevant experience with Learning & DevelopmentAdult Learning accreditation is preferredKnowledge of accessibility principles/practices and implications for design and developmentKnowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, technology-enabled design and learning methodsExperience in the design and development of training for multiple delivery methodsStrong Knowledge/proficiency of web development processes and familiarity with authoring tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Storyline, etc.Excellent analytical, writing, development and editing skills to ensure consistency and quality in training materials and for various audiencesKnowledge of accessibility principles and practices for training design and developmentProficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)Financial Services industry experience is considered an asset
