As a Manager, Compensation Americas supporting the Global Compensation - Americas team, you will be primarily responsible for developing and managing compensation policies, conducting market surveys, and providing strategic advice. You will set equitable compensation rates, ensure regulatory compliance, and handle executive or international compensation within the Total Rewards Job Family.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Developing proposals to successfully attract, engage, and retain top talent for Alcon Americas, including, but not limited to, job level/calibration, internal transfer offers, off-cycle adjustments, and custom action plans for targeted associate groups. Conducting periodic country pay competitiveness health checks/heatmaps to identify areas for improvement. Developing business cases for exceptional compensation actions, e.g., during periods of hyperinflation, conflict, or transformations. Collaborate with broader Compensation teams on annual deliverables for PGR, pay equity adjustments and survey participation. Own annual review of country pays ranges, optimizing available market data. Prepare ELT approval requests for senior roles below Executive levels ("ATL"). Contribute to design of Compensation training content to better resonate the Americas audiences. Deliver education sessions as needed. Partner with Employee Relations on pay equity audits, ad hoc reporting, external certifications, and matters of interest to Works Council. Participate in global RH transformation, HR system implementation, and/or M&A projects as needed. Ensure consistent implementation of global Compensation Guidelines and Governance.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.5 Years of Relevant Experience 3 Years of Demonstrated LeadershipHR/Compensation experience within US and/or Americas is a must. Proficiency in English, both written and verbalPreferred Qualifications: Technical, Analytical & Communication: Demonstrated experience with compensation pillars (salary planning, market pay data, survey management). Solid knowledge of job evaluation methodologies such as IPE. Global Grading, Hay, etc. Robust knowledge on data analysis, reporting, and simulation tools (Excel, Mercer WIN, AirLinc, etc). Consultancy/Advisory: Understands macroeconomics, taxation, and governments mandates shape pay exceptions. Understands business fundamentals and the value-adding activities of all functions. Able to facilitate Compensation/Total Rewards education sessions and respond to questions convincingly. Behavioral: Methodical and structured, with a sharp eye for numerical and contextual details. Culturally agile. Acts with clients in mind, with s consistently positive, approachable dispositions. Promotes enterprise mindset, courage to suggest improvements, and readiness to experiment/innovate. Leadership: Able to influence stakeholders to accept sustainable solutions. Manage processes/projects and prioritizes deliverables with limited oversight, by engages peers on potential derailers or precedent-setting situations.
