Serves as a company spokesperson for complex and sensitive statements and key messages provided to the media by implementing message frameworks; evaluating public opinion research; writing, editing, and approving communications materials; coordinating approval process with internal clients, Global Communications management, and Legal; ensuring key external audiences understand Walmart's culture and values; developing, maintaining, and leveraging relationships with national, local, and online journalists and bloggers for proactive and reactive media stories; and mitigating and elevating potential media opportunities.
Manages media processes and procedures by developing, maintaining, and evaluating vendor relationships and performance; evaluating and recommending improvements to media relations processes and procedures; overseeing the response to and processing of media inquiries; conducting media pitches; coordinating messaging approval process for general media inquiries, third-party partners, and internal clients; preparing executives for interviews; distributing press releases and company communications to the media; and identifying opportunities for positive stories.
Develops and executes communications by drafting, designing, reviewing, and editing communications; advising and managing on the creation and distribution of communication elements related to a global plan; establishing metrics and measuring effectiveness through monitoring and benchmarking; utilizing industry best practices to identify and implement new and innovative communications ideas; adjusting communication approach and methods based on potential project risks; and informing and counseling stakeholders of risks and alternatives.
Manages stakeholder relationships by educating clients on project requirements and timelines; collaborating with project managers and stakeholders; identifying situations requiring escalation; and securing management approval for resource allocations.
Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
