Manager, Communications EMEA (Fixed Term Contract)

Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We are seeking a Communications Manager to support our Pan-EMEA Communications team. The role includes communications for both external and internal audiences. The ideal candidate is a generalist who is comfortable working in an evolving environment and has solid strategic judgement.

This position is a fixed term contract of 12 months based in London and reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications EMEA.

The Role

A strong candidate is a skilled communicator and relationship builder who can be a trusted partner and adviser to teams. The position will play a critical role on a small team. 

Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Devise and implement campaigns and stories across the region that help define the Netflix narrative with the media, industry, partners and third parties.

Serve as the regional lead for the business areas of product, technology and games, building plans that scale across countries and empowering country teams to execute.

Determine strategic and opportunistic PR initiatives, events and conferences and develop programs that will reinforce the Netflix brand.

Act as a spokesperson and liaison between Netflix and the media.

Craft announcements, pitches and other PR materials.

Make sound decisions, even when faced with ambiguity.

Work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, building strong partnerships with colleagues in different locations.

Qualifications

7 or more years of experience in communications, preferably within media, government, policy, entertainment and/or technology industries.

Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal; additional EMEA languages are a plus.

A good understanding of the EMEA media and entertainment landscape and the confidence to build relationships with journalists, including proactively pitching business, tech and media stories across TV, radio and news outlets.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Skilled in executive communications and partnership.

Strong project management skills.

Ability to work proactively and independently, and to manage multiple priorities.

Meticulous organizational skills and effective time management.

The role will require periodic travel to other locations in EMEA.
