Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Vice President, the Manager, Business Management provides a diverse range of analytical research, strategic and/or operational support and acts as the representative of the executive on a broad range of matters as assigned.

The position requires a highly effective communicator with expertise in providing decision support and insight to senior leaders, and discreetly managing matters that are both sensitive and highly confidential in nature.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Customer

Conduct research, analysis and prepare briefings, coordinating communication efforts (presentations, media relations and public relations), anticipating and managing both short term and longer-term objectives/outcomes/initiatives and maintaining a current understanding of TDBG strategies and direction.Provide expertise and support the planning and the decision support process for a broad and diverse portfolio of activities, coordinating with a variety of internal stakeholders on behalf of the executive.Organize and participate in management committees and/or similar forums providing necessary research, analysis and recommendations for planning and decision support purposes on behalf of the executive.Provide the executive with an overview of key management information, discussions and / or business issues in advance of business meetings and events, co-ordinate follow-up on outstanding issues as required.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leaders, business heads and partners across the business / function and other corporate functions.Ensure executive is briefed and prepared in advance of meetings and presentations; agendas and invitees assembled, pre-read material prepared and distributed in consultation with TDBG executives, minutes or previous discussions prepared and distributed.Review / summarize key discussions and/or business issues in advance.
 

Shareholder

Identify issues requiring research or analysis, determine solutions directly or in consultation with relevant functional / business heads, other internal / external groups as necessary, provide meaningful insight / information in response to issues / questions raised.Support development and tracking of milestones and other performance management tools and processes - provide summary reports on progress for executive consideration.Support preparation and delivery of Board-level related materials, financial analysis, coordinating communication efforts, anticipating, and managing short term and longer-term business / functional objectives or outcomes.Maintain strong organizational awareness and a current understanding of TDBG priorities and overall TDBG strategies and direction.Provide operational support and/or optimize on process improvement s as appropriate.Provide support to any working groups tasked with deliverables from these activities.


Team Support

May oversee administrative activities for the team (correspondence, presentations etc.), and provide direction to executive assistant(s)Ensure performance objectives are met and provide insight to the executive on performance issues where applicable.Organize and participate in leadership team meetings, planning initiatives, and broader sessions on behalf of the executive.

Breadth and Depth

Reports to TDBG Senior Vice President (SVP) and provides supports on a wide range of research, analysis, specialized projects, and initiatives of sensitive or highly confidential nature.Generally, an individual contributor role but may oversee team of administrative support roles where assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

Undergraduate Degree.7+ years relevant experience.Strong analytical and storytelling skills and experiences are required for the successful candidate given environment of change and transformation with the business.Commitment to ensuring there is an integrated approach with other business management areas, broader organization, and enterprise wide.Readiness to focus primarily on short- to medium-term issues.Deep knowledge and understanding of the business and technology, organizational practices and disciplines.Sound to advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and market trends in relation to your own function or business.Strength in interacting closely with business leaders to both optimize resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale.Experience in growing team expertise to align with demand and TD's business and technology direction, assess team capabilities, identify ways to provide and enhance value delivered

The Manager Business Mgmt leads and manages a medium to large business management team or a diverse function in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope usually involving short to medium term planning, ensuring an integrated approach with other business management areas, broader organization, and enterprise as appropriate
