Manager, Business Development - General Merchandize, Amazon Now
Amazon.com
Amazon Now is one of Amazon’s fastest-growing businesses globally and is redefining how customers shop in Quick Commerce. As customer usage rapidly expands beyond Everyday Essentials into higher-consideration and mission-driven purchases, Amazon Now is uniquely positioned to lead this shift by combining Amazon’s scale, trust, and execution excellence with fast, reliable delivery. With the evolution of our store network and promise constructs, Amazon Now is increasingly enabling thousands of General Merchandise ASINs to be delivered within minutes, making this segment one of the most rapidly expanding and strategically critical parts of the business.
As a Manager, Business Development – General Merchandise, you will lead end-to-end category development across Other Hardlines (OHL), Consumer Electronics & Personal Computing (CEPC), Softlines and adjacent categories. You will own the selection vision and growth roadmap for General Merchandise on Amazon Now and define how Quick Commerce can become a differentiated destination for urgent, convenience-led, and impulse GM missions. This includes identifying whitespace opportunities, shaping category-specific quick-commerce use cases, and building scalable selection strategies that balance speed, breadth, and customer relevance.
You will lead and develop a high-performing team of category and business development managers, setting clear goals, coaching for impact, and driving strong execution rigor. The role requires close engagement with brands, distributors, and sellers to unlock exclusive launches, quick-commerce-first selection, premium and imported assortments, regional relevance, and emerging brand partnerships purpose-built for rapid fulfillment. You will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Instock, Pricing, Tech, Marketing, and Operations to ensure selection is operationally viable, commercially competitive, and consistently available at scale.
This role will be central to defining how Amazon Now leads the market on General Merchandise selection, outpacing incumbents through superior assortment depth, faster selection refresh, and smarter deployment across dark stores and larger-format stores. You will partner closely with senior leadership to influence long-term strategy, shape investment priorities, and deliver sustained, disproportionate growth in one of Amazon Now’s most important next growth pillars.
