Mammography Coordinator
Job Overview

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Mammography Coordinator to join our Beast Imaging team! This is a .6 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work the following schedule at 2 locations:

 

Tuesday: 7AM - 3:30PM at our Southdale Breast Center in Edina, MN

Thursday and Friday: 8:30AM - 5PM at our Ridges Breast Center in Burnsville, MN

The Mammography Coordinator is responsible for serving patients, providers, and staff in facilitating follow-up action in conjunction with mammography services. The Mammography Coordinator is responsible for maintain all records vital for compliance with Federal MQSA standards. This includes sending patient result letters; reporting daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly audit statistics; and maintaining statistics for physicians and technologists. The mammography coordinator is responsible for documenting all follow-up exams including pathology results.

Responsibilities

Customer ServiceResponsible for sending results letters in a timely fashionResponsible for taking calls pertaining to mammography tracking across the Fairview system and respond to callers needs quickly and optimallyRespond to request by physician and mammography sites for regulatory reportsDemonstrates ability to provide service while adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural difference of population servedAssess and transfer calls to appropriate locations for complex patient questionsTracking and ReportingMonitor all breast imaging patient charts for appropriate result informationDevelop and maintain appropriate reports for mammography trackingPrepare and mail patient result lettersMonitor follow-up reports and ensure accurate reminders are sent to patientsMaintain accurate pathology data in Radiant Mammography ModuleResponsible for 100% compliance for mammography notificationResponsible for prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlinesInteract with physicians and other staff to ensure accurate and complete data is available in all mammography reportsRun statistics needed for Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, and Stereotactic Breast Biopsy ACR accreditation including Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center (CBIC) designation.Contact for Lung Cancer Screening result and reminder lettersHealth Information ManagementMaintain up-to-date mammography result recordsRequests and receives medical records from appropriate sourcesMaintain confidentiality and abide by HIPAA LawsNavigate proficiently within HERCommunicates written and verbal information in a clear, appropriate, and concise manner and through various computer systemsCommunicates with other staff members regarding changes to processes, policies, and proceduresDaily monitors equipment in work area to determine function ability and takes appropriate corrective action when needed.Orients and mentors’ new employeesParticipates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiativesAssumes responsibility for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for positionCleans and maintains rooms and supplies

Required Qualifications

A.A./A.S. or 2 years directly applicable work experience or a combination of education and experience3 years of relevant healthcare operations or information management experience

Preferred Qualifications

B.S./B.A.5 years direct healthcare operations experience, preferably in mammography
