The Professional & Direct Hire Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Technician to join our client's team! This is a direct-hire opportunity offering up to $33/hr. with strong bonus potential and excellent benefits starting on day one. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll support a 24/7 manufacturing operation in a hands-on role focused primarily on reactive maintenance, with continued efforts toward preventative maintenance. You'll work closely with operations to keep equipment running safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibilities

... Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures, wearing required PPE, properly handling tools and equipment, keeping work areas clean, responding to emergencies, and adhering to SOPs and company policies. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant systems and mechanical equipment using manuals and specifications; safely operate, maintain, lubricate, and clean tools, equipment, and machinery. Complete minor electrical repairs and troubleshoot electrical issues using testing instruments; inspect and measure parts to identify wear or dimensional changes. Disassemble equipment using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes to access, repair, or replace defective components. Set up and operate metalworking equipment, including lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, end mills, and pipe threaders, to repair or fabricate parts and tools. Monitor equipment operation, diagnose mechanical or electrical issues using sound, performance, and diagnostic screens, and test equipment to confirm proper operation. Operate, monitor, and maintain RTO systems and required logs; troubleshoot and support plant utilities including dust collectors, vacuum systems, ovens, cooling towers, and boilers. Use PLC and maintenance software to diagnose issues, complete work orders, and maintain accurate spare parts and equipment inventory. Support Lean Sigma initiatives by participating in Kaizen events, completing scheduled 5S activities, and maintaining daily housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment Electrical experience required; PLC exposure preferred (Siemens experience a plus, but not required) Comfortable working on a variety of production and plant equipment Ability to work independently during night shift after training Prior experience in a 24/7 or high-production manufacturing environment preferred
