Maintenance Technician - PLC/Electronics
**Job Title: Maintenance Technician - PLC/Electronics** **Job Description** As a Maintenance Technician specializing in PLC and Electronics, you will play a vital role in inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a variety of machinery and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of automated machinery and electrical devices, contributing to the seamless functioning of our facilities. **Responsibilities** + Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and install machinery and equipment. + Monitor equipment to detect malfunctions. + Discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other team members to diagnose problems and repair machines. + Install, repair, or replace electrical devices such as transformers, relays, circuit breakers, starters, and safety and limit switches. + Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. + Install, program, and troubleshoot automated machinery and Programmable Logic Controllers. + Install, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment. + Service and repair material handling equipment. + Monitor the main electrical panel and troubleshoot as necessary. + Repair and maintain boilers, water heaters, water conditioning equipment, and all water distribution systems. + Follow established preventative maintenance guidelines. + Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance for machines. + Perform all necessary maintenance and update logs as necessary. + Report major problems to supervisors. + Maintain the building through painting, repairing minor structural problems, and other repairs as necessary. + Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment. + General maintenance repairs of office and building. + Ensure proper adherence to all safety and government guidelines. + Identify safety issues with machines, document issues, develop action plans to resolve concerns, and follow-up to ensure problems are resolved. + Monitor machines to ensure all levels are within EPA, OSHA, and other government guidelines; develop action plans to resolve issues if not; follow-up to ensure problems are resolved. + Assist in the control and scheduling of projects. + Monitor inventory and order parts as necessary. + Monitor energy usage and provide recommendations on better usage. **Essential Skills** + PLC troubleshooting and control. + Electrical maintenance. + Industrial maintenance and repair skills. + Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge. + Mechanical repair and troubleshooting. + Preventive maintenance strategies. + Ability to read and interpret schematics, 3-phase systems, blueprints, and conveyer systems. + Proactive and self-motivated. + Ability to perform under extreme stress. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma, Technical School Training (two years), or 3 to 4 years of related experience. + Licensed journeyman of a skilled trade. + Basic level computer skills for word processing and spreadsheets. + Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical and electrical schematic diagrams. + Effective oral and written communication skills. + Ability to define problems and draw conclusions. + Interpret technical instructions and diagrams. + EPA Refrigeration Certification (Type II or equivalent). **Work Environment** The work environment exposes team members to moving mechanical parts and occasionally to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, explosion, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate, but can be high. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
