Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of all production equipment and systems. This role involves coordinating, scheduling, and completing preventative maintenance work orders, as well as managing maintenance shutdowns. The technician will repair compressors, pouch machines, and printing presses, while also replacing motors, cylinders, switches, sensors, pushbuttons, and heater carts. Collaboration with vendors and suppliers is essential to ensure service tech support and handle orders efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate, schedule, and complete all preventative maintenance work orders and maintenance shutdowns.Repair compressors, pouch machines, and printing presses.Replace motors, cylinders, switches, sensors, pushbuttons, and heater carts.Set up all production equipment and troubleshoot system issues.Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for service tech support and order management.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting skills in pneumatics and industrial machinery.Preventive maintenance and repair expertise.Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Experience with compressor, pouch machinery, and printing press maintenance.PLC troubleshooting and press maintenance capabilities.Understanding of 3-phase electrical maintenance.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of maintenance experience on industrial machinery systems.Proficiency in PM repair and use of hand and power tools.Ability to work on computers and lift up to 40 lbs.Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Experience in reading and comprehending blueprints.Flexible packaging experience is a plus.Experience in medical device and pharmaceutical sectors is beneficial.Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC is advantageous.Bilingual skills are a nice-to-have.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, with occasional gown-up requirements in sterile packaging areas. The Maintenance Technician will be the sole member of the maintenance team, working closely with the Press Supervisor to ensure efficient troubleshooting and problem-solving. The machines are old, requiring candidates to think on their feet without manuals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
