Maintenance Technician Lead
**Job Title: Maintenance Technician Lead** **Job Description** This position serves as a maintenance crew member responsible for the upkeep and repair of plant equipment at an industrial plant. Areas of expertise include electrical systems, welding, and instrumentation. The primary goal is to ensure safe and efficient production by quickly responding to changing conditions. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance and welding. **Responsibilities** + Perform maintenance in all areas of the plant on a scheduled or emergency basis. + Conduct mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. + Carry out building repairs and cleaning. + Adjust controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms on control panels to manage process variables like flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals. + Identify malfunctioning units by observing control instruments or automatic warning signals. + Inspect equipment to determine the location and nature of malfunctions, such as leaks, breakages, and faulty valves. + Communicate directly with production to coordinate maintenance and repair work. + Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions. + Perform preventive maintenance activities as required. + Assist with new installations and other projects as requested by the supervisor. + Work with contractors to plan and implement the installation of new equipment or systems. + Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs. + Engage in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness. + Complete other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical skills + Conveyor knowledge + Schedule management + Hydraulics + Pneumatics + Industrial maintenance + Welding expertise + Electrical maintenance and repair + Preventive maintenance **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma required + 3-5 years of experience in electrical or instrumentation maintenance and repair + Understanding of plant operational processes and procedures, including routine and emergency start-up and shutdown practices + Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care + Basic electrical experience + Pneumatic and hydraulic experience + Forklift and manlift experience + Knowledgeable of PPE and Fall Protection + Knowledgeable in Lockout Blockout (Machine Specific) + Demonstrated interpersonal skills + Ability to work with all levels within the organization and in a diverse group + Ability to write detailed repair reports and good verbal communication skills **Why Work Here?** Employees benefit from comprehensive vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as a 401(k) plan with employer match.
