**Now Hiring - Maintenance Technician** **Location: Altoona, Iowa Job** **Job Type: Direct Placement / Full-time** **Position Overview:** We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to provide essential support in maintaining the continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment in our food-grade facility. This role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and assisting with mechanical repairs to ensure production runs smoothly. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment. + Assist with breakdowns and mechanical troubleshooting. + Conduct basic cleaning and maintenance tasks. + Work on conveyors and belting systems. + Operate forklifts and fork trucks as needed. + Replace drive belts, timing belts, and filters in machinery. + Identify and replace bearings, seals, and mechanical components. + Troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control circuits. + Perform welding (TIG, MIG, arc welding) on carbon and stainless steel. + Repair and replace vacuum pumps, speed reducers, vari-drives, and product pumps. + Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) hardware for troubleshooting (no programming required). **Essential Skills & Qualifications:** + 2+ years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience. + 2+ years of VFD or PLC troubleshooting experience. + Strong equipment troubleshooting and mechanical skills. + Preferred maintenance technical degree or equivalent experience. + Experience in preventative maintenance procedures. + Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams. **Additional Qualifications:** + Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, blueprint reading, and PLC troubleshooting. + Experience with Allen-Bradley equipment, conveyors, motors, and industrial maintenance. **Why Join Us?** + Career advancement opportunities with hands-on training from lead technicians. + Immediate PTO – 10 days upon hire + 2 floating holidays. + Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k) available after 30 days. + Performance-based raises (~3.5% yearly). + Monthly employee engagement activities to foster a positive work culture. **Work Environment & Schedule:** + Food-grade facility with above 60°F production temperatures. + Shift openings: (A Shift) Monday - Friday from 7AM - 3:30PM or (B shift) Sun. 7PM - 7AM; Monday - Thursday 11PM - 7:30PM *Pay shift differentials: +$1.35/hour (overnight) | +$1.00/hour (afternoon shift)* + 24/7 plant operation with an expanding maintenance team (8 technicians, growing to 11). + Safety gear required: Steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hairnets. + Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 75 lbs over 25 feet and stand for 8-hour shifts with occasional breaks. **Apply Today!
