Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of equipment and facilities at a chemical manufacturing and distribution facility in Sacramento, CA. This role focuses on performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues, while maintaining a safe work environment in alignment with operational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

Complete projects assigned by the maintenance supervisor.Maintain plant assets and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize equipment utilization and life.Adapt quickly to changing priorities and own work processes to meet deadlines.Collaborate effectively in a team environment.Strictly adhere to established company policies, safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and industry safety practices.Communicate effectively and follow detailed instructions both verbally and in writing.Understand, interpret, and follow technical construction and mechanical drawings and plans.Safely operate hand tools and chemical plant machinery, including JLG and forklifts.Work safely in various climates, including hot/cold and dry/humid conditions.

Essential Skills

5+ years’ experience in a general maintenance environment.Competency in mechanics, rotating equipment, piping fitting, welding, and electrical systems.Proficiency in PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and general control systems.Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.Ability to understand, interpret, and follow technical drawings.Proficiency in English language communication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
