**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
The maintenance technician will be responsible for mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair throughout the facility. This role involves monitoring, repairing, and adjusting various manufacturing equipment and systems, including hydraulic thermoforming presses, ovens, robotic waterjets, 3-phase motors, Siemens PLCs & HMIs. It is a multi-craft industrial maintenance position that requires mechanical, electrical, and controls work. Candidates should be prepared to use a laptop for troubleshooting programs and drives, although PLC programming is not required but considered a plus. The facility specializes in manufacturing sound deadening interior parts for the automotive industry and operates in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform manufacturing-related equipment preventative maintenance.
+ Safely troubleshoot live electrical panels.
+ Participate in problem-solving groups and lean manufacturing activities.
+ Contribute to the maintenance department's efforts towards achieving key measures.
+ Continuously learn to support various processes such as thermal forming, adhesive, molding, Isocyanate foam, high-pressure water, and assembly.
+ Operate powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, and cranes.
+ Edit/modify control programs on programmable devices like A-B, SLC-500, Control Logics, Panel View, Panelview Plus.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years working in a maintenance department within a manufacturing environment.
+ 3+ years of experience with maintaining automated machinery.
+ 1+ year of electrical troubleshooting.
+ Strong mechanical BG.
+ Ability to use basic machining tools, powered hand tools, and other maintenance-related equipment.
+ Ability to read machine drawings and control schematics.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Automotive BG is a plus.
+ Robot and robotic control experience (Fanuc, Motoman, ABB) is a plus.
+ Electrical journeyman card is a plus.
+ Experience working with a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system is a plus.
+ Experience with smart cameras (Keyence, Cognex) is a plus.

**Work Environment**
The facility manufactures interior sound deadening material for the automotive industry in a fast-paced and deadline-sensitive environment typical of the automotive sector. The plant spans nearly 300,000 square feet, with 40% of work dedicated to Chrysler and the remainder split among various tiered suppliers and auto manufacturers. Employees currently work 50-hour weeks and can expect to work most Saturdays until fully staffed, with some Sundays offering double time. The third shift operates from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday through Friday, with a $1.25/hour premium.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Battle Creek, MI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
