Maintenance Technician

Our client, a dedicated public housing organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the Housing Department supporting the maintenance and safety of residential properties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Maintenance Technician
**Location:** Cohoes, NY
**Pay Range: $25/hour**
**Shift:** 8am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
**What's the Job?**
+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs in occupied and vacant housing units, including plumbing, carpentry, drywall, flooring, and basic electrical work
+ Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently
+ Prepare vacant units for new occupancy, including repairs, cleaning coordination, and inspections
+ Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively
+ Identify maintenance issues requiring specialized contractors and report findings to supervisors
**What's Needed?**
+ High school diploma or GED required
+ One (1) year or more of experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related trade preferred
+ Working knowledge of general maintenance practices and repair techniques
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
