Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Focus)** **Job Description** We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical focus to join our team. This role operates on the 2nd shift and offers a contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of various mechanical devices, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary repairs. **Responsibilities** + Operate and maintain fork trucks. + Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. + Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. + Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. + Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. + Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. + Repair or replace defective parts. + Install special functional and structural parts in devices. + Lubricate, oil, and clean equipment per manufacturing specifications. + Start devices to test their performance. + Assist in repairs of electrical equipment. + Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and building equipment. + Connect power supply wires to machines and building equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and building equipment. + Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables. + Replace electric motor bearings, align, shim motors, and re-build pumps and motors. + Assist in planning layouts of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. + Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components of machine and building equipment. + Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. + Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities. + Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies, tools, and equipment. + Clean and organize shop area. + Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. + Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of maintenance experience. + Valid driver's license. + Proficiency in shop math. + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. + Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Skills in electrical troubleshooting, mechanical, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, plumbing, welding, building maintenance, lighting, and HVAC. + Forklift operation is a plus. **Why Work Here?** Join a team that values your expertise in maintenance and offers a supportive work environment. Employees are expected to wear appropriate attire suitable for a maintenance setting. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $64480.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
