Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift | Industrial Maintenance | Manufacturing

Join a growing manufacturing team as a Maintenance Technician and put your mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to work. You’ll support the safe, efficient operation of a wide range of production equipment — including mixers, saws, conveyors, box makers, sealers, fryers, freezers, Raytheon machines, forklifts, separators, and baggers — while performing routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment adjustments.

This role is ideal for someone with strong industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, and troubleshooting experience who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment.

What You’ll DoDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues reported by production and line supervisors.Test and operate machinery before and after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety.Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on all production equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.Use drills, saws, grinders, welders, presses, and other hand and power tools to repair and maintain machinery.Support facility maintenance, including plumbing, basic electrical wiring, painting, and general building upkeep.Communicate repair status, potential issues, and shift handoff notes to supervisors and incoming maintenance teams.Submit accurate parts requests and maintain proper inventory for repairs and PM tasks.Record all maintenance activities in daily logs and maintenance systems.Coordinate with outside vendors and technicians when specialized repairs are required.Make machine adjustments as needed to support operators and maintain production efficiency.Essential Skills & ExperienceHands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.Knowledge of electrical systems, compressors, conveyors, and industrial machinery.Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.Additional RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED.Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs as needed.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and food‑grade materials.Why You’ll Love Working HereCompetitive, comprehensive benefits package (single plan approx. $65/week).11 paid holidays and a 401(k) match.A company committed to continuously improving employee benefits and workplace experience.Stable schedule on 2nd shift: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday–Friday.Work Environment

You’ll work in an active production facility with exposure to:

Loud noise, moving machinery, and powered industrial trucks.Food-grade dust, odors, and allergens (fish, shellfish, nuts, eggs, wheat, soy, milk, coconut).Extreme temperatures, including cold, heat, and occasional outdoor conditions.Industrial hazards such as oil, electricity, heights, and anhydrous ammonia.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
