Maintenance Technician

Seeking a skilled 1st shift Maintenance Technician near Manhattan, NY to support a busy plastic injection molding manufacturing facility. This position ensures molding presses, automation systems, and plant utilities operate at peak performance to maintain continuous, high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily, preventive, and corrective maintenance on injection molding presses, molds, auxiliary systems, and robotics.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical (480V/3-phase), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Support mold setups, changeovers, and tooling adjustments to minimize downtime.

Maintain and service auxiliary equipment such as dryers, chillers, compressors, grinders, and material-handling systems.

Diagnose and correct faults in PLC-controlled equipment and automation/robotic systems.

Maintain accurate records of work performed through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Partner with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

Follow strict safety and GMP protocols to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment.

Solid knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Experience with injection molding presses (brands such as Husky, Engel, Arburg, or similar a plus).

Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Familiarity with automation/robotics used in plastics manufacturing.

Welding, fabrication, and machining skills preferred.

Strong troubleshooting ability and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
