Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in assisting our Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems in an industrial setting. Your contribution will ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of our establishment.

Responsibilities

Dismantle machines or equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms.Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings, and replace or repair machine belts.Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines, and paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.Bend and cut conduit wire, and drill holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections.Connect wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, splice wire, and insulate wire with friction tape.Bend, cut, and thread pipe, cut openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seal pipe joints with sealing compound.Cut out and join parts for worktables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings.Patch or replace plaster or plasterboard and paint walls, ceilings, and trim of buildings.Clear clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures.Operate welding machines to repair or join metal parts.Furnish materials, tools, and supplies to colleagues.Clean work area, tools, and equipment, and perform other routine duties.Perform all work procedures in accordance with safety and quality management systems.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in electrical, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical repair.Experience with preventive maintenance processes.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Capability to write routine reports and correspondence.Effective communication skills for speaking before groups of customers or employees.Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Application of concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.Experience with basic hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, computers, blueprints, schematics, and circuit breaker panels.Preferred experience with plastics or other manufacturing, electrical, robotics, mechatronics, PLCs, cranes/hoists, forklifts, and basic plumbing and building maintenance.Ability to climb step ladders and/or stand on raised platforms.Capability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

You will work in a plastic manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and potential electrical shock risks. Occasionally, you may encounter wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The noise level is typically moderate. This role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to frequently lift heavy objects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $63000.00/yr.
