Maintenance Technician
**Maintenance Technician - Garland, Tx** **Up to $32/hr** **Job Description** Join a leading company in the building products industry with a rich history dating back to 1933. We specialize in providing high-performance building envelope products and solutions across North America. Our comprehensive product line includes waterproofing and moisture protection products, air/vapor barriers, sealants, roof coatings, and more. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire position on the first shift, with opportunities for overtime during the ramp season. **Responsibilities** + Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair on production and plant equipment. + Handle piping tasks including cutting, threading, and installations. + Troubleshoot, rebuild, repair, and replace pumps such as progressive cavity, diaphragm, and gear driven pumps. + Maintain working knowledge of steam boilers, thermal oil heaters, industrial air compressors, and pneumatic piping. + Utilize electrical, air-driven, and manual hand tools, as well as arc welders and acetylene torches. + Conduct pipe fitting and pipe welding. + Troubleshoot equipment and processes to define problems and create safe and cost-effective solutions. + Maintain cleanliness and organization at the work site and maintenance shop. + Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and develop new preventive maintenance procedures as needed. + Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, including T3P Personal Risk Assessment Forms, Safety Task Planner, and Good Catch Form. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 5 years experience as a Maintenance Technician. + Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with 50/50 mechanical vs. electrical focus. + Proficient in maintenance repair, welding, motors, gearboxes, and preventive maintenance. + Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading schematics and blueprints. + Ability to work with up to 480 volts for electrical tasks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with piping, pipe fitting, and pipe welding is a plus. + Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude. + Experience in pumps, boilers, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulics. + Ability to operate a forklift when necessary. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy great benefits, yearly salary raises, and bonuses. Expect overtime opportunities during the ramp season starting in April. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
