Maintenance Technician
**Maintenance Technician** **Fremont, NE** **Job Description** As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide essential technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Your role involves maintaining assigned equipment and offering training to peers as needed. **Responsibilities** + Monitor production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary. + Utilize various hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. + Review work orders for accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed. + Assist with installation of new equipment or modification of existing equipment as required. + Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department. + Suggest correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects. + Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required. + Identify opportunities for improvement and provide feedback to supervisor regarding cost reduction, quality improvement, and yield control. + Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience. + Proficiency with hand and power tools of all varieties. + Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure and industrial blueprints. + Basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components. + Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and calculating percentages. + Proficiency in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. + Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit. + Effective communication skills with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors. + Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed. + Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision. + Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. + Physical capability to pass required physical and demonstrate ability to lift required weights. + Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire 8-hour shift. + Wear appropriate job-specific PPE as designated by company policy. + Consistently practice and enforce safe working habits. + Recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Associate’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding, or similar fields preferred. + Previous experience working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) preferred. + Welding experience preferred. **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with matching, dental and disability insurance, an employee assistance program, flexible spending accounts, health and life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and vision insurance. The facility operates 24 hours a day processing 1 million chickens within a 24-hour cycle. Shifts include overnight from 6 PM to 6:30 AM following a 2,2,3 schedule.
