Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** Perform work involving maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. This may involve pipe fitting, boiler making, insulating, welding, machining, and fabrication of chutes, guards, and supports for production machinery. Additionally, responsibilities include repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, and installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment. **Responsibilities** + Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. + Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machines, efficient building systems, and the preservation of building conditions. + Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions following checklists. + Use a variety of tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. + Assemble, install, and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment. + Diagnose mechanical problems and determine solutions by consulting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. + Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. + Record maintenance and repair work performed along with associated costs. + Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. + Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. + Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams. + Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers or obtain them from storerooms. + Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. + Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. + Align and balance new equipment after installation. + Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. + Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. + Estimate repair costs. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical maintenance in a liquid recycling facility (distilling). + Electrical troubleshooting of motors, pumps, and valves. + Experience in mechanical, electrical, and pump control systems. + Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Some fabrication experience. + Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. + Experience in PLC troubleshooting. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy working in a small, family-owned manufacturing environment located in the heart of Louisville.
