Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of industrial production and processing machinery. This position involves repairing, adjusting, and maintaining machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. You will perform basic troubleshooting and repairs under direction and oversight.

ResponsibilitiesSupport a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.Maintain a quality work environment by following appropriate policies and procedures.Complete weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance duties on operations machinery, equipment, and tooling per preventive maintenance procedures.Document required repairs and maintenance tasks.Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly.Inspect equipment, products, materials, or packaging to identify the cause of errors or defects.Repair, clean, lubricate, or adjust machinery to optimally maintain the equipment.Disassemble, repair, or replace malfunctioning or broken machinery or equipment components.Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repair.Examine parts for defects, such as excessive wear or breakage.Perform changeovers and set-ups to equipment as required.Utilize root cause analysis to suggest and implement improvements as part of Continuous Improvement Teams.Complete process checks on specified quality forms and records.Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to ensure set standards are achieved or exceeded.Essential SkillsProficiency in maintenance repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.Experience with extrusion machines, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.Ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery, tooling, and equipment.Capability to run basic machine shop equipment.Skill in accurately using calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers.Efficient time management and prioritization to meet deadlines and goals.Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with coworkers and customers.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in technical field preferred.Minimum of one year of related experience or technical training.Training in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery is a plus.Training in industrial electrical repair and maintenance is a plus.Experience in metal fabrication and welding preferred.Experience operating and maintaining PLCs used to control manufacturing processes preferred.Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Products and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Our production facility is very clean and climate-controlled. The work involves 20% clerical and planning tasks and 80% machine maintenance and assisting production employees. The environment can be noisy, requiring hearing protection in marked areas. Eye and foot protection must be worn, and lifting weights up to 30 pounds regularly, and up to 45 pounds occasionally, is required. There is potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Regular physical demands include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and coordination.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
