**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Location** : Elgin, Illinois **Job Type** : Contract to Hire **Shifts Available** : + **2nd Shift** : 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM + **3rd Shift** : 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM Overtime available after shifts and during major weekend projects **About the Role** We’re seeking a skilled and proactive **Maintenance Technician** to support our food manufacturing operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll install, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipment while ensuring compliance with safety, health, and GMP standards. If you’re mechanically inclined and thrive in fast-paced environments, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. **Key Responsibilities** + Install, maintain, and troubleshoot production machines and facility equipment + Set up and repair packaging lines and machinery + Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, replace parts, and make necessary adjustments + Monitor machine operations to ensure product quality and packaging standards + Perform emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance + Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems + Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to resolve issues + Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders + Regulate machine speed and flow for optimal performance **Required Skills** + 3+ years in food, packaging, printing, powder, pharma, or similar industries + Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mixers, blenders, and PLCs + Proficient in hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors, fillers, and scaling systems + Skilled in reading blueprints and interpreting schematics + Familiarity with GMP practices and preventive maintenance protocols + Experience with single and three-phase equipment (up to 480V) + Able to use electrical testing tools (volt meter, amp meter, ohm meter) + PLC troubleshooting experience **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Welding experience is preferred. + Ability to understand PLCs, including hooking up a laptop to different brands of PLCs. + Experience with Bosch vertical bagger equipment is advantageous. **Why Work Here?** Join a best-in-class service provider known for its agility, innovation, and sophisticated systems.
