Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

A well-established food production facility in Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the technical upkeep of its manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems in a GMP-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on bakery and packaging equipmentTroubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systemsWork with PLCs (troubleshooting, editing, and programming)Diagnose and resolve issues with instrumentation, automation, and control systemsSupport production teams with equipment diagnostics and changeoversExecute major equipment overhauls and test systems post-repairOperate tools and machinery including saws, drills, forklifts, and scissor liftsMaintain accurate records in the Maintenance Management System (SAP or similar)Top Skills & Qualifications:3–5 years of maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated environmentExperience in food manufacturing or packaging preferredProficient in PLC troubleshooting and programmingStrong knowledge of electrical (480V) and mechanical systemsAbility to read blueprints and schematicsFamiliarity with SAP or other CMMS platformsTechnical degree or certification preferredWork Environment:Fast-paced food production facilityMust be comfortable working around packaging lines and bakery equipmentAdherence to GMP and food safety standards is required

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
