**Job Title: Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to work in a GMP environment specializing in marshmallow production. This role involves responding to repair requests for production machinery and building equipment throughout the facility. You will be troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues and executing repairs to ensure machinery operates at optimal conditions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Respond to repair requests for production machinery and building equipment in all facility areas.
+ Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and make appropriate repairs to restore machinery to satisfactory running condition.
+ Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, and written or verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks.
+ Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs on plant equipment such as bagging machines, conveyors, case erectors, kitchen equipment, and utility equipment.
+ Conduct basic rebuilding of gearboxes, motors, and small pneumatic equipment.
+ Analyze existing problems and contribute innovative solutions.
+ Unload powdered and liquid raw materials from rail cars as needed.
+ Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant process and utility equipment, including lubrication, filter replacement, and equipment inspection.
+ Assist with equipment installations and upgrades.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
+ Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
+ Expertise in 3-phase motors, variable frequency drives, controls, and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
+ Industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Must supply own hand tools and safely use power tools.
+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights including rooftops and silos, and lift 70 pounds safely.
+ Some knowledge of mechanical and pneumatics operations expected.
+ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; vocational training or AA/AS degree is a plus.
+ Familiarity with A-B control platform is a plus.
+ Food industry or confections experience is a plus.
+ Open to trade school graduates/entry-level candidates.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is very clean, though it can be a bit hot and loud at times. Overall, it is comfortable and welcoming. The facility is home to approximately 60 employees at both the Bensenville and EGV sites.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.05/hr.
