Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overhauling, repairing, and testing high-speed production equipment throughout the facility. This includes working on ovens, packaging machines, mixers, cartoners, baggers, stuffers, and more. You will read, understand, and update shop prints and specifications, referring to manufacturer’s manuals for servicing and installation. You will determine manpower and material requirements, recommend changes, prepare and paint surfaces, and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
ResponsibilitiesUse tools and test equipment effectively.Maintain spare parts inventory and order parts as needed.Coordinate with Maintenance supervision for locking and tagging systems.Observe safety standards and practices diligently.Monitor and assist outside contractors for compliance with standards.Train new hires and transfers in proper maintenance and safety standards.Essential SkillsMechanical maintenanceMechanical troubleshootingFabrication2-5 years of experience with drive train components such as belts, pulleys, sprockets, and chainsBasic electrical knowledge, including 110 single phase and 480 & 230 volt 3 phaseFabrication skills including welding, grinding, and assemblyAdditional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, PLCs, and motorsWork Environment
You will be working in a large food manufacturing facility with two buildings. Building one contains equipment updated from the 1980s, while building two has equipment updated from the 2000s.
