Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Maintenance Engineer** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, diagnose and repair issues, and maintain the physical structure of our facility. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing malfunctions, cleaning and lubricating machinery, and installing and repairing electrical components. This role involves working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, operating various machine tools, and performing preventive maintenance. The Maintenance Engineer will collaborate with various departments to implement continuous improvement ideas, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and assist with capital project activities. **Responsibilities** + Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. + Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and create action plans for repairs. + Diagnose and repair machinery problems, discussing variations with others as needed. + Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. + Install and repair electrical apparatus, including PLCs and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. + Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. + Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. + Maintain the physical structure of the building. + Install, program, or repair automated machinery such as robots or programmable controllers. + Set up and operate machine tools such as grinders, drills, sawzalls, and shredders. + Repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. + Operate cutting torch or welding equipment. + Perform preventive maintenance and train machine operators. + Operate a forklift or other PIE as required. + Keep the shop, toolbox, and work areas clean. + Decide when to bring in outside contractors and coordinate their activities on-site. + Complete daily inspections of Boiler Room equipment. + Work with Corporate Engineering and Maintenance to minimize repair expenses. + Collaborate with leaders and team members to plan, coordinate, design, and implement continuous improvement ideas. + Assist engineering with capital project activities. + Assist with writing SOPs for operating equipment. + Develop and lead the Centerline Program on equipment. + Follow NFPA 70, LOTO, and OSHA Safety rules. + Ensure BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Electrical experience including wiring and troubleshooting. + Preventive maintenance and maintenance repair. + Blueprint and schematic reading. + PLC troubleshooting. + Industrial and building maintenance. + Electrical troubleshooting and 3-phase motors. + Proficiency with hand tools. + Experience with hydraulics, mechanical, pneumatics, and plumbing. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with Microsoft Office/CMMS. + Mathematics experience. + Relevant educational experience **Why Work Here?** The company is expanding and looking for full-time employees who seek growth opportunities. Certain areas of the facility can be cold, but jackets are provided. The facility is wet on the floor but well-lit and relatively comfortable. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 3:30 pm to 3:00 am. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $28.66 - $28.66/hr.
