Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** Join a leading fish oil manufacturer in northwest Houston as a Maintenance Technician. This role involves performing routine preventative maintenance on shop machinery to ensure smooth operations. You will diagnose mechanical issues and utilize hand tools and control instruments to repair equipment. Collaboration is key, as you'll assist in overhauls and conduct mechanical maintenance on motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, and other production equipment. The position also requires facility infrastructure and utility repairs as needed. **Responsibilities** + Perform routine preventative maintenance on shop machinery. + Diagnose mechanical problems and repair machinery using hand tools and control instruments. + Assist in overhauls with the team. + Conduct mechanical maintenance on motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, and production equipment. + Perform facility infrastructure and utility repairs as necessary. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. + Experience with pumps, valves, gearboxes, bearings, and conveyors. + Ability to perform facility repairs. + Mechanical aptitude. + Possession of basic tools. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in the oil & gas or food industry. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a stable work environment unrelated to oil and gas, offering consistent workflow. Candidates should be comfortable with the plant's fish oil smell. The facility requires wearing hair nets and beard nets. The environment is akin to an oil and gas industrial shop, with equipment such as skids and evaporators. Initial training occurs during the day for 2-3 weeks before transitioning to night shifts. The work schedule is 10-hour days from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts from 6 pm to 4:30 am or 6 am. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
