Maintenance Supervisor
**Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor** Job Description The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work performance of direct reports, including making critical decisions on hiring, disciplinary actions, and evaluating work objectives. The role involves developing responsibilities for team members and ensuring high-quality output. The Supervisor will also implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime, manage equipment installations, and maintain compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities + Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. + Oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations to meet standards. + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. + Manage, train, and mentor a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians. + Assign tasks to team members, monitor progress, and provide feedback. + Ensure all production equipment operates efficiently and safely. + Coordinate with the production team to schedule maintenance without disrupting production. + Oversee maintenance of building infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. + Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. + Conduct regular safety inspections and audits. + Develop and manage the maintenance budget. + Work with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and procure necessary parts and equipment. + Analyze maintenance performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. + Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance maintenance efficiency. + Participate in cross-functional teams to support operational excellence. Essential Skills + 5 years of supervision experience. + Proficiency in maintenance management and preventive maintenance. + Hands-on maintenance work and troubleshooting skills. + Experience leading a team of 5 mechanics. + Knowledge of GMP environment, food and beverage manufacturing. + Strong mechanical maintenance proficiency. + Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. + Proficient use of computer and Microsoft Office applications. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Proficient in using maintenance management software. + Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. + Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects. + Strong leadership skills and ability to develop interdepartmental relationships. + Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements. Work Environment This position offers two openings for the 2nd shift: Monday to Friday from 6 pm to 4 am, and Saturday to Thursday from 6 pm to 4 am. Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required. The work environment involves exposure to various conditions such as dirt, dust, fumes, noise, and temperature extremes. Employees face physical risks and hazards, including working around mechanical equipment and handling chemical hazards. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces.
